Has Hell Frozen Over???

This past week has been pretty crazy in the news department. The US economy has been alternatively broken and fixed and broken and ? The presidential race has the candidates doing a lot of posturing and finger pointing but very little discussion of substance. In the human interest category two music stars, DJ AM and Travis Barker were critically injured in a plane crash that took the lives of 4 others. Meanwhile the hottest names on the television screen came out to LA and proceeded to bore the pants off of the American public to the point where even this entertainment junkie decided to turn it off about an hour into it. In these dark times this entertainment junkie turned to the beloved entertainment mags to lift my spirits. And Oh MY GOD, what do I find as I turn to people.com........



OMG Lance is gay? Say it ain't so. I could NOT have seen that coming in a million or so years. Has Hell frozen over?

Oh wait that was 2 years ago. Since then he's had a relationship with Reichen from the Amazing Race that I know of, and he may be in one now. Fantastic. And of course this season he's also on Dancing With the Stars. After one viewing he's probably my second favorite behind Misty May Treanor. I think she's awesome, but probably more for personality than anything else. Plus c'mon she and Kerri Walsh pretty much rule. But Lance, I mean he has that whole boy band thing going on. And he's a cutie. Those eyes....wait, he's gay?! I just hope Justin Timberlake shows up at some point to show support for "his boy". Hey a girl can dream right?

Which leads me back to my dreams being crushed due to people.com.....

Oh sweet Clay. Clay of the American Idol "claymate" fans. Clay of the glasses. Clay of the second place to Ruben Studdard. Clay who has fought rumors of being gay since then. The sensitive side of me is really happy that he can be himself and not have to pretend to be something that he is not. How tiresome and sad for him. The catty side of me wonders why People magazine, which is one of my favorites, would choose to almost duplicate the Lance cover. "I'M GAY" versus "YES, I'M GAY". Same large font. Same sympathetic portrait, only Clay has his sweet baby as well. I'm sure the article will be heartwarming, and I don't doubt for one moment that Clay has faced some personal battles his whole life and especially over the last few years, and I'm so happy that he decided to have a child. I think he'll be a good dad. I'm glad he's finally out and can live his life freely and hopefully he got a nice little check for agreeing to do the interview and pictures. Good for him. I guess I just question why or how this is breaking news. Especially since 2 years ago we saw virtually the same cover with Lance. Oh well whatevs. I'll still buy it and read every single sentence. Thanks People for making me realize I'll buy whatever you feed me.
